Updates and Information: Spears Manufacturing Modified Series
For the October 23rd – Kern County Raceway “October Classic”
- ON TRACK ‘TRICK OR TREAT’ – Bring candy for the kids for the on-track Trick or Treat session during opening ceremonies. You can hand out the candy, or have a bucket or box set next to your car. All cars will be brought to the front straight and remain there until after the National Anthem. Please be in full uniform.
- RACE TEAM BREAKFAST: At 8:30am on Saturday Pit Gates Open for a Team Breakfast Hosted by ‘Visit Bakersfield’.
- THROWBACK PAINT SCHEMES – In celebration of the October Classic, one of the sport’s most iconic short track races, “Throwback” paint schemes will be part of the race weekend. You can change your car number to go with the throwback. Best ‘Throwback Scheme’ will be presented a set of tires courtesy of Hoosier Tire West.
- FUEL: If you plan to purchase SUNOCO Race Fuel at Kern, please let us know by this Wednesday how many gallons you plan to purchase.
- PRE-TECH: All cars will undergo inspection by assigned appointments on Friday, maximum four crew members plus the driver with the car in tech inspection. Please stay back away from the car during inspection to allow officials room to conduct inspection.
- ON THE GROUND: Once pre-qualifying tech opens on Saturday at 2:20pm, all cars are to be on the ground ready to roll to tech. The penalty will be the slowest of your two qualifying laps if your car is not on the ground at 2:20.
- FIREWORKS: A Fireworks Celebration is scheduled to take place before the start of the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series main event.
- NO GOLF CARTS, SCOOTER, QUADS – No golf carts, quads, bicycles or any type of motorized scooter, etc allowed on the raceway grounds. THE INJURED OR HANDICAPPED MAY BE ALLOWED SINGLE PERSON SCOOTERS – MUST GET APPROVAL FROM RICKY BROOKS.
- NATIONALLY TELEVISED – The race will be livestreamed on SPEARSRacing.TV, live, and will be nationally televised at a later date on MAVTV. Team uniforms are not mandatory, but let’s do our best to represent our team and series in a professional manner.
