- FREQUENT FLYER: There will be a tow money program in place in 2019, with restructuring under the banner of the ‘SPEARS Frequent Flyer Program’, where the bonus money will be awarded to teams who run consecutive series events, rather than based on the current points standings. All teams will start on the SPEARS Frequent Flyer Program beginning at the first event at Kern County Raceway on February 2ndand will remain on the program until a team misses a race. But a team may get back on the bonus program by simply running consecutive races. The SPEARS Frequent Flyer Program will award drivers $300 over what the track pays in start money for each race.
Items that are under consideration based on preliminary discussions with the race teams, officials, sponsors and race tracks:
- IMPOUND: There are some new procedures that are under consideration, such as post qualifying impound, where cars will be impounded after qualifying and remain in impound until the start of the main event. The plus side to this is, teams can take a break once qualifying is complete, the teams work hard all day, so this is a great time for teams to relax, get some dinner, and enjoy the time before the start of the main event – and there is no need to roll back through the scales before going on track.
- ENTRY: We understand that pre-entering for races is something that the teams are not accustomed to, but we plan to implement the policy that teams will fill out an entry form and pre-enter each event, this allows the management of the series to better staff and plan for the events. Pre-entry will be $50, and post entry will be $75.
- RULEBOOK: We don’t plan any rule changes for 2019, the rulebook has been reformatted for 2019.
Things the new management would like to see with the series:
- POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT: We will strive to create an environment in the pits at each event that everyone will look forward to being part of, with a friendly and professional atmosphere that everyone will enjoy while at the track.
- WORK TOGETHER: We hope to see the teams take an active role with the series management, now and during the season, where together we will all work to make the series better for everyone involved. There will not be an us against them, but only an us together.
- LOOK FORWARD: We think the key to the success and longevity of a race series is to always look forward at ways to reduce the cost of competing and keep the fun factor high.

Each race will be the foundation of our strength to build upon in moving forward.
